Iza Pavlina (10. 6. 1991, Celje, SI) is a visual artist who lives and works in Celje. In 2017 she finished her postgraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where she received a special achievements award in 2015. In her artwork, she most often deal with issues that are in one way or another related to sexuality, pornography, and sexual paraphilia. She often creates fictitious identities with which she enters the virtual space to explore various phenomena of social anomalies, relations of power and the question of how to manipulate one’s image to establish communication with a target group of internet users. She aims to present sexuality in the broader sense and to answer the question of how art in the age of new media changes the image of human sexuality. She works with a variety of media such as drawing, video, installation, and performance.
